Compete America Members Seek to Ensure America has Domestic Talent Needed for 21st Century Economy
White House Initiatives are Reminders of Need to Improve U.S. Education
This week, the White House hosted a Science Fair as part of its “Educate to Innovate” initiative to help American students excel in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields.
As part of the “Educate to Innovate” initiative, President Obama launched “Change the Equation,” a CEO-led organization created to improve STEM education in the United States, which includes the following Compete America-affiliated organizations:
- Accenture
- The Boeing Company
- Cisco Systems Inc.
- Google, Inc.
- Hewlett-Packard Company
- Intel Corporation
- Microsoft Corporation
- Motorola Foundation
- Oracle Corporation
- QUALCOMM Inc.
- Texas Instruments
Compete America also applauds the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, which aligns with the coalition’s own Education and Workforce Principles that specifically advocate for the development of a stronger high-skill domestic workforce through diversity.
Compete America members are committed to working with the White House and all stakeholders to ensure all American students graduate with the skills needed to succeed in the 21st century economy.
