Compete America Applauds Senator Menendez for Legislation to Reform America’s Broken Immigration System
Says Fixes to Employment-based Immigration System in Comprehensive Reform Measure Will Help Advance U.S. Job Creation, Growth and Innovation
Washington, D.C. – Compete America, a coalition dedicated to ensuring that the United States has the highly educated workforce it needs to continue to lead the world in innovation and job creation, issued the following statement regarding comprehensive immigration reform legislation, introduced today by Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ).
“Compete America applauds Senator Menendez for introducing comprehensive immigration reform legislation today, which underscores his continued leadership efforts to enact much-needed reforms to fix – once and for all – America’s broken immigration system.
“Senator Menendez clearly understands the inextricable link between a highly educated workforce and U.S. job growth. The employment-based green card provisions in his bill are the kind of reforms American employers need to allow top world talent to continue innovating and growing employment here in the United States – especially after they have graduated with a U.S. advanced STEM degree.
“We thank Senator Menendez for his continued commitment to advancing U.S. job creation and economic recovery by reforming the immigration system for highly educated, foreign-born professionals. We look forward to working with him, his colleagues and all stakeholders on lasting, meaningful and bipartisan fixes this year.”
