Proposed Administration Initiatives
At this time there are no proposed Administrative initiatives.
Several federal agencies oversee and make policy for the employment-based visa and green card systems that U.S. employers use to recruit and retain highly educated, foreign-born professionals. Those agencies include:
- Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Ombudsman: Links to office within DHS that provides recommendations for resolving individual and employer problems with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
- Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services: Links to immigration statistics, forms and filing instructions, laws and regulations governing employment based immigration.
- Department of Labor, Employment & Training Administration: Links to information for employers on filing Labor Condition Applications for H-1B workers and Labor Certification Applications for green cards, as well as prevailing wage data.
- Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security: Information for employers on the “deemed export” license required for certain foreign nationals working with sensitive technologies.
- Department of Justice, Office of Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices (OSC): Information for employers on complying with the employment verification (I-9) process.
